Ella Louise Beyerlein, age 97, passed away on March 24 in Rochester Hills, MI. She was born on January 22, 1918 in East Detroit, MI to parents Henry and Louise Kaiser. Ella had 5 brothers and one sister.

Ella lived in Michigan her entire life. She married Elmer Beyerlein May 25, 1940 and lived in New Haven until they moved to Chesterfield Township and then Rose City. She has lived in Rochester Hills since 1968.

Over the years, Ella wore many hats and wasn't afraid to roll up her sleeves and pitch in. This included helping at the family gas station in Chesterfield Township being gofer, gas pumper, window washer and meal delivery service.

She was an avid crafter and enjoyed gardening. Wherever she put down roots, a flower garden soon graced the landscape. Her game of choice was euchre and she enjoyed many a Wednesday afternoon at the UAW Local 653 union hall giving them a run for their money. She also looked forward to the monthly dinners there when she was able to attend.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran church in Rochester Hills. For many years, she worked with the Gleaners there making quilts for World Relief. When she was no longer able to attend, she continued to cut and sew quilt blocks from home.

Ella is survived by her children Donald Beyerlein and Patricia (Robert) McGuigan, one grandchild, Teresa (Kenneth) Nelson, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother, Paul Kaiser of Prescott Valley, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer, son Gerald, grandson Joshua and her sister and 4 brothers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to St. John's Lutheran Church.
